What I need to bring to my first class?

Comfortable clothes, an empty tum and an open mind!

What if I am pregnant?

If you wish to attend classes please check with individual teachers,  if you have any concerns, please check with your medical advisor

What if I haven't done any yoga before?

Then now is a great time to start! There are classes for all levels at YOGA AKASHA, including beginners

What if I have limited mobility?

YOGA AKASHA is situated on the first floor, so you would need to be able to climb a flight of stairs to access our studio, if that is accessible for you then there are classes that are more gentle for those who are not so physically adept

 What should I wear?

You will need to wear clothing that is loose so that you can stretch comfortably. It is also useful to wear layers so if you become warm while practicing you can remove a layer, which can then be put back on to relax down at the end

Do I need to bring my own mat?

You may bring your own mat if you wish, or if you’d rather not, or don’t have one then we have mats at YOGA AKASHA that you may use

Can I buy a yoga mat there?

You certainly may, we sell eco friendly mats that are perfect for you practice and the environment

How long should I leave between eating and coming to class?

You will feel more comfortable practicing with as little in you tummy as possible, I would suggest 2-3 hours after a light snack and 3-4 hours after a larger meal

Do I have to book?

No, all scheduled classes are drop in, just show up five minutes before the class to sign in. Generally you do need to book for courses and workshops.

Where can I park?

There is Pay and Display in King Street, but if you are attending a workshop it would be cheaper to park in the Pay and Display in Church Lane, between the High Street and De La Warr Road which is a long term car park and accommodates parking over 4 hours. We don't have any parking at YOGA AKASHA.
