Kevala

|
Kevala (Tracey) began practising Yoga nine years ago while living in London, finding Saraswati Neville her teaching guide to present day who is an initiate of Swami Devananda, a disciple of Swami Sivananda. With a growing interest in Yoga and upon returning to live in East Grinstead, her practice broadened to include traditions such as Bikram, Ashtanga, Satyananada and Iyengar methods; travelling to South America in late 2004 to studyboth Iyengar and Dynamic Yoga in Santiago, Chile. In autumn 2006 she attended a week of intense Yoga anatomy training with Paul Grilley from the United States, this experience deeply effecting her approach to teaching Yoga postures. She presently enjoys a gentler method, building up to the poses in stages with the inclusion of breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation in the classes she teaches. Kevala completed both her Hatha Yoga and Ante and Post-natal Yoga teacher training in London in 2006, receiving her spiritual name the following year. She is currently completing an additional three year teacher training course with The Comprehensive Yoga Fellowship, based in the midlands.
The Tuesday 8.15-9.45pm Hatha Class includes breathing and relaxation techniques, but primarily focuses on yoga postures. To attend the class requires no previous experience of yoga. The poses are introduced in stages, building up to the full depth of each one, so all levels of experience are welcome.
